Montalcino – Siena – Sant’Angelo in Colle. South facing hillside slopes of Eocene origin enjoying a favourable sunny exposure all day long. Average height 300 m. above sea level. Optimal climate conditions, good rainfall in spring, hot and dry summer with regular temperatures. The weather was ideal in September with pleasant temperatures during the day and fresh during the night. The maturation evolved perfectly.
Aging: 4 years in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels of 75 hl. followed by about 2 years of further aging in bottle in a temperature controlled environment.
Alcohol: 14,5 % vol.
Total Acidity: 5.6 g/l
Colour: Deep ruby red
Aroma: Elegant, intense and well balanced. The typical aromas of the great Sangiovese are perfectly blended with the spicy oak hints.
Palate: Excellent structure with soft and ripe tannins balanced with a pleasant acidity. Long spicy fruity aftertaste.
The Banditella vineyard, planted in 1988 with the clones of Sangiovese selected among Col d’Orcia clones over the past 10 years, provides the basis for one of the most excellent expressions of Brunello di Montalcino. Manual harvest with rigorous selection of the bunches.
