Variety: Syrah 88%, Cabernet Sauvignon 12%
Origin: Quinta de Maipo vineyard, DO Buin, Maipo Valley
Soil: Year after year we choose the best blocks of grapes from three different soils in the Quinta de Maipo vineyard.
- Hillside: Tectonic in origin with a clay structure, this shallow soil has very low fertility and produces small, concentrated clusters that lend weight and structure to the Syrah planted in this sector.
- Upper Terrace: Alluvial soil with volcanic ash deposits and asilty-loam structure; this sector is also planted with Syrah and produces wines with smooth, elegant tannins.
- Lower Terrace: The soil is alluvial in origin, with a sandy structure and extremely rocky, with very low fertility and good drainage that offers ideal conditions for growing classic, concentrated, and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon
This unique and privilege climate has some interesting factors, such as: constant winds that blow in from the Pacific Ocean in the morning and then down from the Andes Mountains in the afternoon. The daytime-nighttime temperature differential characteristic of Maipo Alto, and the moderating effect of the Maipo River.
