Let’s meet Turtugaruba:

Turtugaruba is a foundation for the conservation of sea turtles and their habitat in the Wider Caribbean, especially on and around Aruba. Turtugaruba is a proud member of the Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network (WIDECAST). Every season volunteers donate their time and effort to locate all turtle nests to make sure they are protected.

Did You Know…

• All species of sea turtles are endangered and need our protection
• Sea Turtles return to their natal beach in order to nest.
• Sea Turtles use the earth’s magnetic field to guide them on their long journeys at sea.
• Sea Turtles do not nest every year, but rather every 2-5 years.
• The Leatherback Sea Turtles of Aruba lay about 115 eggs a clutch.
• The Leatherback female will nest 6 – 8 times a season.
• It is estimated that only 1 in 1000 hatchlings survives to maturity.

Let’s meet Fundacion Autismo Auba:

“Fundacion Autismo Aruba” (FAA) is one of the few organization on Aruba that works specifically for the interest of people with autism, their families and caretakers.

The foundation was formed by parents of children with autism, who had personally experienced the lack of an organization to help them navigate life with autism after a diagnosis.

F.A.A. aims to reach their objective by, amongst other:

– raising awareness about autism;
– developing and distributing informational materials;
– developing, organizing, stimulating and coordinating courses and workshops about autism for different target groups;
– stimulating research and the collection of local data concerning autism;
– stimulating early detection and intervention;
– promoting activities that will lead to improved and specialized services;
– creating different networks, locally and internationally that will sustain the foundation in reaching its objectives;
– collaborating with other organizations active in the field of autism or with whom the foundation has a common ground;
– raising funds to sustain these activities.

Let’s meet the Aruba Animal Shelter:

The Aruba Animal Shelter’s main goal is to improve the lives of Aruba’s dogs and cats and to lessen the problem of stray animals. AAS hopes to reach that goal by making adoption of pets very attractive.

The shelter does all of this by taking in as many unwanted animals as they can and give them the care, love, affection, and medical attention they need. They also talk to the people who bring in animals they don’t want anymore and ask them what the problems are and talk to them about the solutions.

The AAS does not receive any funds from the government and is completely dependent on gifts and donations. And therefore they need our help!
